There is a myth spread by the media in the West that Pakistani women and Muslim women in general, are under the thumb of their male relatives in a patriarchal society.
The overall structure of the country is indeed ruled by men.
At home, though, the reality could not be further from the truth. If anything, the myth could be the other way round.
In the home, at least, the women rule the roost with an iron fist.
They are ferocious dictators, right up there with Hitler, who run and control the home and family.
Which is why I call it the “Big Fat Auntie Mafia”.
It is run very much like a Mafia.
