Me: Do you really think you coming with me to the game and watching Declan would cause problems?

Avery: Let’s not go there.

Me: You guys broke up four years ago. Why don’t you tell him the truth?

Avery: It’s a long story. But I thought it was best to stay away.

Avery: I figured, but I wasn’t taking any chances.

Me: He left right after he saw you.

And then Emmett was up the other set of steps and out. I shook my head. When the hell were those two ever going to just hash it out? Fight. Fuck and forgive. Probably never, but this wasn’t the time to get wrapped up in their drama.

Avery was walking up and out of the stadium.
