In this book, Martin Ramström explores the contributions of Swedenborg to several branches of the natural sciences. The book is divided into two parts. The first part looks at Swedenborg's Investigations in Natural Science focusing on his mathematical, mechanical, astronomical, geological, mineralogical, chemical, physical, cosmological, anatomical, and physiological investigations. The second part looks at the basis for Swedenborg's statements concerning the functions of the brain by focusing on the centres of the vegetative functions, the centres of the psychical functions, especially the sensory centres, the centres of the motor functions, the doctrine of localizations, and the cerebellular theory with a concluding summary
