Full of music and song the play features separated twins, a lovesick Duke and a Countess who can't stop mourning: the stuff of melodrama is mingled with farcical slapstick comedy in this, the last of Shakespeare's romantic comedies. The Malvolio sub-plot is as funny as the main plot is bittersweet.
