They lived there for 25 years, and the book was written after they'd been on the island for about a decade. It is an incredible island history with a comprehensive and captivating depiction of life on a tropical island in the early 1900s. It contains descriptions of flora, fauna, and lifestyle, as well as some stories about and observations of the island's original inhabitants.
