Peggy has spent her life convinced she was never wanted. Abandoned as a baby, betrayed by the man she planned to marry, and left to mourn her adoptive mother’s sudden death she’s certain love only leads to pain. Alone in her childhood farmhouse, she keeps to herself, trying to rebuild what’s left of her heart.
Then one stormy night, a cry cuts through the rain. Thinking it’s a wounded dog, Peggy runs into the darkness and finds something far stranger. A woman lies at the edge of the woods, hurt and feverish, her eyes faintly glowing in the night. There’s something wild and magnetic about her, something that pulls at Peggy in ways she can’t explain.
As the truth unfolds, Peggy learns the stranger isn’t human but a werewolf bound to her by a connection older and deeper than either can understand. Drawn together by instinct and something far more dangerous, they must face what waits in the shadows and within themselves.
Can Peggy let go of her fear long enough to trust love, or will she lose the one who was never meant to stay?
