“Lils, Blaine was telling you to find a lover!” Frustration and lingering shock made Logan’s voice sound harsh.

“I know.” She could still hardly believe it herself. “I’m sure he’ll reconsider once he…”

“What if he doesn’t?”

She blinked up at him in surprise. “Oh, of course he will! He was just…”

“What…if…he…doesn’t?” This time he spaced the words out, so that each one fell between them like a hammer’s blow. “We’re going to be up here for another three weeks, just you and me and him. Take him out of the picture, and who does that leave?”

Suddenly the air seemed thick, impossible to breathe. “He didn’t mean that. He couldn’t have meant that.”

“Why not?” There was challenge in his urgent question, and she felt something like rising excitement prickle all up and down her body.

“You’re my brother-in-law.”

“And you’re my sister-in-law. But I want you more than I’ve ever wanted anything…or anyone.”

It was finally out, hanging between them in the humming silence. And she’d been right. Saying the words aloud made it real. Horribly, terribly, arousingly real. She nearly moaned as her body reacted, flooding her belly with liquid heat and tightening her sensitive nipples into taut peaks.

“We can’t.”

“Why not?

“You’re Blaine's…”

He cut her off by reaching across the table and gripping her trembling hand. “You want it, too. You know you do.”

“Logan, we…” Her voice broke, and she had to take several deep breaths before she could make it work again. “We need to take a giant step back and think this through.”

“I’ve been thinking about it every single day since the very first time I saw your picture.” His voice was low now, vibrating with intensity. “Why do you think I fought the idea of moving here permanently? That was dangerous ground. Logan navigated it carefully. “He’s not divorcing you or threatening to kill himself. He’s only allowing you to find someone who will satisfy your needs sexually. Someone you care about, who will treat you the way you deserve.”

“He’s not talking about you!”

“Maybe not.” He lifted one broad shoulder in a reluctant shrug. “But I’m here. I love you. And I want you.” Impulsively he reached behind his back, caught her hand, and drew it down between them. She gasped when he curled her fingers around the rigid length straining inside his pants. “You know it’s true.”
