Saint Augustine was a zealous pastor. He often talked about prayer, explaining what prayer is, what we should ask and hope for-both for ourselves and our loved ones-, and how God might answer. Repeating the exhortation of St. Paul and of Christ himself to pray without ceasing, he emphasized the great need for a prayerful lifestyle that assures our stronghold in the intimacy with the Lord, a lifestyle that is both a gift and a testimony for those we meet in our daily lives.
