    👍Worth reading

If you’re a curious learner who wants to start from scratch and spend the time to dive into the foundations of leadership, (illustrated by Jocko and Leif through their military experience) I would recommend reading the first three books. Recommend this book.

Quotes

Apologizing is not a display of weakness, it is strength. It is part of taking ownership. When you make a mistake, apologize and explain. This is powerful and healing. Even if you think you were not at fault, go ahead and apologize anyway. You are probably at fault and can benefit from the apology. Take responsibility for your mistakes, and move on.

Leaders who think they already know everything they need to know do not advance their knowledge.
  • Habibur Rahmanhas quoted5 years ago
Honesty is one of the most critical leadership attributes. It is not easy to always tell the truth, and it must be done with skill and sensitivity. Leaders need to be in regular communication with their teams, both collectively and individually so that news is routine and expected. Good news is delivered easily, but the bad news is also delivered, routinely and promptly, and the leader loses credibility fast.
