The Epic Battle for Your Mind: Inner Critic vs. inner Creative Warrior

Right now there’s a major conflict taking place for control of your mind. Yes it’s true. Two powerful internal forces are facing off against each other. And this confrontation is occurring just outside of your awareness.

The first opponent is an adversarial character called your inner Critic (iC). It’s a nasty gremlin that takes your ambition for a brighter future and smothers it before you even realize. Your iC is an insidious demon that has wedged itself between your thoughts and your actions. It’s that negative voice in your head that has hood-winked you into thinking that you’re not smart, talented or worthy enough. Your iC has the power to persuade you to negate your proactive impulses for personal growth.

The other rival in this brawl is called your inner Creative Warrior (iCW). Fortunately, your iCW is on your side and ready to help you overcome the negativity of your iC. Your iCW has a consistently positive and uplifting message. Think of the two adversaries this way: when your iC hits your awareness with an ‘I Can’t’; your iCW counter-punches with an ‘I Can and Will’.

Your iCW is a quiet force, at first. Get to know your iCW and connect with its power. As your relationship deepens, you’ll see the pessimism of your inner Critic rapidly decrease. The self-defeating impact it has on your attention will vanish and be replaced by an enhanced confidence delivered by your iCW. And soon your iC will be a distant memory.

Your inner Creative Warrior is ready and willing to help you move towards your dreams and goals. Always remember that your iCW is a friend, a muse and a personal life coach. You’ll soon win the battle for your mind by teaming up with the supportive strength and pervasive power of your iCW.

How to Connect With Your Creative Warrior

“Awareness is the greatest agent for change.” -Eckhart Tolle

Looking back at my life I can see that there were several attempts by my iCW to break through to my conscious mind. Many were successful in that they pushed me to take action. However, I wasn’t aware of the source at the time. I never gave it a second thought. Or even a first thought.

Here’s an analogy that you may be familiar with: Your two-way radio is tuned to a random channel that you can hardly hear. There are people talking. You pick up bits and pieces of what they’re saying. For years you do this. Yet, you never learn who they are or what they are actually talking about. And worst of all, you never realize your finger is touching the button that, when gently pressed, would allow you to communicate with the world.

Here’s how to connect with your inner Creative Warrior:

Be Aware of Your Inner Critic

Our iCW serves as our personal guide. It shows us the way to success by taking action towards achieving our goals. Unfortunately, its voice is drowned out by that insidious little gremlin in our head called our inner Critic. The gremlin enjoys tormenting us. Its favorite game is to try and convince us that we are not smart enough or strong enough or…
