Red Roses and Black Dahlias

“Go to my room and take your clothes off.” My breath hitched at his command.

A small smile grazed his lips and he nodded once, “Good girl.”.

Despite myself, this made me shiver

She may not have my blood running through her veins, but I would bleed for her all the same.

I used to dread my future, but with you, it feels like something I should look forward to instead.

We may not be linked by blood, but Sofia, Valentina and I, we were becoming a family.

I couldn’t wait to get home and see my girls.

The thought gave me pause. I didn't know when exactly I had started thinking about them as mine but I had. They were both mine and I would do anything in my power to help them get through life and its hardships.

Death doesn’t exist, people only die when we forget them.

I said nothing, and let her believe that I wasn’t into her even though I wanted her so much it burned.

I, a twenty-eight year old man, was totally and utterly wrapped around that little girl’s finger. I knew at that moment I would do everything to protect her.

Having them both in my arms, where I could protect them and give them the affection they deserved but so obviously lacked, it felt right.

It felt like home.
