Charles Perrault (1628 — 1703) was a French author. A pioneer of the fairy-tale genre, his stories are based upon traditional folk tales. Amongst his most famous stories are ‘Puss in Boots', ‘Little Red Riding Hood’, ‘Cinderella’, and ‘Sleeping Beauty'.
