HEGADUS— a novel about legends, the women who form them and how their myths are recanted from one generation to another. Ancient Europe tells the legend of Petra, a girl brought to earth by the mighty Turul bird — a girl we learn is from much humbler beginnings. Across the ages we hear one version of the tale after another, as Petra goes on an odyssey to return a casket with mysterious properties to her fallen village.
