Jules Verne

20 thousand leagues under the sea

For over 150 years, Jules Verne's most famous work has enchanted readers of all ages. The writer helped create a new literary genre, science fiction, and his books had a premonitory quality. Many of the later human inventions were anticipated in his pages. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is one example.
The adventure is truly thrilling. The reader is transported to 1866, the year in which ships of various nationalities began to sink and suffer mysterious damage. The descriptions reveal that a being “long, fusiform, phosphorescent at times, infinitely larger and faster than a whale” was responsible. Immediately, rulers and scientists mobilized to stop the mysterious sea monster.
The mission, however, did not go as planned. Those responsible for the expedition were captured by the enigmatic and troubled Captain Nemo, creator of the modern submarine Nautilus, who was mistaken for the mysterious monster. The adventure had only just begun. The troupe will travel across the seabed, encountering remote waters, deep-sea creatures, and lush flora and fauna.
A classic of world literature!
