    Getting rid of bad habits works in the same way. If you can make the habit harder to do, it will be easier to quit. So keep all junk food out of your house, or throw away your cigarettes and stop socializing with smokers on their breaks at work. By removing temptations, making the good habits easier to do, and the bad ones harder to do, you can make lasting improvements to your happiness

    Make positive changes by following the path of least resistance
    If you have ever struggled trying to change your habits in an attempt to feel happier—going on a diet, or starting a new exercise regime—then you have something in common with millions of people around the world. The usual approach is to employ willpower, resisting the urge to give in to bad habits, and replacing these with better ones. This is not an effective way to make change in your life. Instead, you need to make it easier to build your new habits, and harder to continue the old ones

    Change the way you perform by changing the way you think
    Your mindset plays a very important part in determining how you will perform in each task that you attempt. If you choose to concentrate on negatives such as stress, pain, unpleasantness, or uncertainty, then you are setting yourself up for failure. But if you remain positive, focusing on optimism, hope, strength, and gratitude, then you are putting yourself in the right mindset for success
