Storms are a part of life. For John Abrams, a happily married church pastor who suffers from an overactive desire to serve and the inability to say no, storms are short-lived and there's always sunshine afterwards. John is learning that he must come to grips with the idea that priorities are a necessity of life and too much of anything, even a seemingly God-thing, could be bad. When John goes from shepherd of the living to reaper of a dying world, life becomes a constant tempest that slowly consumes everything. Those he loves disappear from his life until all that is left is his choice to submit and follow the path set for him or resist God's will and allow the dead to pile up until they outnumber the living in a world he believes has been forsaken by God.
