    Granny glasses were another popular accessory. These round glasses first appeared in the 1960s. They were worn by famous people, such as musician John Lennon. They caught on with young people. Many tinted their glasses in colors like pink and orange.

    until then, women wore boots only during bad weather or for special activities, such as horseback riding or hiking. They were not worn for fashion. Designer Andre Courreges changed all that with the go-go boot.

    People loved the idea. They could throw the dress out when it got dirty. They could hem it with a pair of scissors or fix it with tape.
    Half a million orders poured in. It was too much for Scott Paper Company. After six months, they stopped making them. Other companies saw the chance, though. Mars Manufacturing Company became the leading maker of paper clothing. There were paper dresses for women and children, jumpsuits, evening gowns, and men’s vests. People could even buy a paper wedding gown and waterproof paper raincoats and swimsuits!
