My arms lowered on their own. I was focused on him. This was the last test. This was the final opportunity for him to back out. If he didn’t like what he saw, it would all end here. His arms fell to his sides, my dress still held lightly in one hand. I watched his face as his eyes moved downward over my body.
I held my breath. Waiting for his reaction, I mercilessly killed the creeping thoughts of doubt in my head. He wasn’t running, and he didn’t make a sour face. Those were good signs, right?
James let the dress fall to the floor. He stepped closer and his arm shot out. He wrapped those burly forearms all the way around me, each arm encircling my waist. He yanked me against him and kissed me. This time it was strong, insistent and hungry. His lust took my breath away. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he continued to kiss me. I let him kiss me. In that moment, I was his and I let him claim me.
