Today, it is widely regarded as one of the best Restoration comedies and is still occasionally performed. The play tells the tale of two lovers, Mirabell and Millamant, craving to get the blessing of Millamant's aunt, Lady Wishfort. Yet Lady Wishfort has other plans for her niece's future.
