She made to turn around and Drew stopped her with a hand on her upper arm; he felt her shiver under his palm, and for the first time, in a very long while, Drew felt alive.

“No, don't turn around, you'll spoil it.”

“And what am I going to spoil?” She tapped her toe and fidgeted with the strap of her purse. “You know it's customary to introduce yourself to a stranger, especially when the conversation with said stranger could be deemed inappropriate.”

“You're married?” The disappointment in her tone was almost tangible. Her slender hand covered his fingers and gently removed his grip.
