By nature Ricardo was a hunter, and, like all hunters, he enjoyed the adrenalin-boosting thrill of the chase almost as much as he enjoyed the ultimate and inevitable kill at the end of it. Prêt a Party might only represent a small ‘kill,’ but Ricardo’s preparations for the chase would still be carefully planned. - hunting for sport is a cowardly act! There is nothing great about killing sentient life.

Lucy’s a loyal little soul, and devoted to her friends—you know the type, all breeding and no brains.’ He shrugged. ‘I don’t want to say too much to - he's an ass and a half but many of the socialites do fit this description...

"‘Liar. You looked at it, at me, as though you couldn’t wait to feel it against your own. As though there was nothing you wanted more than for me to push you up against that doorframe and take you right here and now. As though you could already feel my hands on your skin, touching you intimately, and you were loving it. As though—’" - overly confident douche...

I hope you like lobster by the way.’ - lobster and other seafood boiled alive, boiled to there deaths...romantic? No, nauseating!

She had been a piece of unwanted humanity, left there to die. Unwanted and unloved, even by her own birth mother. No wonder, then, that her adopted mother had never been able to love her either. - this really broke my heart 💔💔💔

The magazine told us they wanted only colour-co-ordinated vegan food, in their house colours, but then they rang up saying that they’d heard that a certain glossy magazine editor only ate Beluga caviar and they had to have some.’ - vegan lifestyle is the only way forward if we intend on reducing the influx of zoonotic diseases lik Covid19 & save the planet at the same time.

And sex without love was surely like…Like what? Like whisky without water? Undiminished? Its strength and flavour heightened by the fact that it was not touched by anything else? Why shouldn’t sex be like that? Why shouldn’t it? Why couldn’t it be a pure, intense, once-in-a-lifetime experience just as it was? - yeah I think the physical connection is heightened by an emotional one.
