Two books within one!
‘Jack’ is set in the late 1950s and tells the story a young boy’s sexual awakening. It also hi-lights the effect of adult exploitation on the young, an issue that the author feels is at last being seen as deserving very serious discussion and hopefully action.
‘Just Three Girls’ is set in the late 1960s and tells the story of three teenage girls and how they cope with the rapid changes occurring around them. The girls’ naïve understanding of their own sexuality will remind many an older reader, with humour, of their own attempts to ‘swing.’
Linda Taylor’s two stories are explicit in places but this adds to the strong flavour of the eras conveyed and will both delight and sadden at the same time.
