Kate had known sadness before, but when Grim, her grandmother, becomes ill her world starts to shift. It’s only Tain, the boy down the road and her closest friend, who carries her through. But Tain battles his own grief, and Kate discovers that life can sometimes be too much to bear – even for Tain. Kate must come to grips with a loss she never imagined, and learn to go on in spite of it all.
