The story is about two friends, one a theologian and one a skeptic, both with everyday lives, who get caught up in a web of intrigue and adventure on the run for their lives, through no fault of their own.
In the cross fire, other people are involved, some fatally, as they flee. The two end up as three when they involve a women they know, who helps them. There is corruption in high places, with no one they can trust.
If all this wasn't bad enough for Harold Pennington, he has visions of distorted time, or is it another reality? And is it effecting some situations, like the incredible turn of events that befall them. But throughout it all, a great friendship, though tried, does not fail.
