Lydia is dead. But they don't know this yet … So begins the story of this exquisite debut novel, about a Chinese American family living in 1970s small-town Ohio. Lydia is the favorite child of Marilyn and James Lee; their middle daughter, a girl who inherited her mother's bright blue eyes and her father's jet-black hair.

    💡Learnt A Lot

The story is able to lastly learn how to raise the children without favouritism, be assertive, but not to be put upon. I shouted here, as additonal to be a pro with that people identitybis always in process, represented, and addressed in cultural system. And it connecting with the history which play a critical role in social movements. Therefore, people cannot speak for very long in assumption of differences without acknowledging others.

This book told me about a family issues that might happend in toxic relationship. James' family is not a healthy family, it described by the title on this book.

I think this book is meaningful. It has deep moral value about family. Love it.

“Not with Lydia making a face like that. People will think she looks like that all the time. Pick a nice one.”
