When I went to my grandmother's summer house, I grabbed a muffin that I didn’t know was not mine. When I first saw Hartley, I thought she was just a crazy fan who might be trying to get into bed with me. But what was I thinking? Definitely not that I was quickly falling for a girl who was deaf and had no idea what I was saying most of the time. I also was not thinking about how easy it would be to leave the NHL world behind and start a new life after my injury. And I certainly didn't think that my crazy ex would want me back. But my heart belongs to Hartley now, and I'm ready to prove it.
