Annie Warwick

Hello there, this is Annie Warwick. What sort of person writes Amours and Alarums? I’m not sure, really, but anyway here’s a little about me. OK, I confess, I live a humdrum existence, taking delight in such things as gigantic trees, period architecture, over-embellished interior décor, and words like “humdrum”. There are also regular attacks of housework, shopping, cooking and so on. A & A (which has nothing to do with B & D, so don’t get excited) contains no real spookiness, however I’ve always been drawn to the supernatural. I work as some kind of health professional. Shhh!Born in Chipping Norton, England, I’ve lived in Australia since the age of 4, starting off in Queensland and gradually sliding toward Antarctica. I tumbled to the North of Tasmania in 2004 where I have managed to remain for the last 10 years by hanging on grimly and wearing heavy boots, since I’ve no real wish to wake up one morning in Patagonia. A & A is my first attempt at a novel. No-one was more surprised than I that someone wanted to publish it. Thankyou Lacuna! All the naysayers on the internet will tell us that the probability of getting a first novel in print and that of inserting a vigorously protesting, even-toed ungulate through an aperture in a small sewing implement are roughly equivalent. So all this means if you are hoping to be published, it is vital not to get discouraged. Someone, sometime, has to publish new authors or the species will die out. One of those authors may as well be you.
