Charlotte Stevenson

Charlotte Stevenson is a British author known for writing dark, twisty psychological thrillers The Serial Killer's Son (2023) and The Guests (2024).

Born and raised in North West Cumbria, Stevenson pursued a career in medicine, studying in Scotland. She continues to work part-time as a doctor, a role that informs her understanding of the human psyche, which is reflected in her writing. Her medical background has provided her with insights into the darker aspects of human nature, which she explores in her fiction.

The Serial Killer's Son is Stevenson's first novel. It is about Monty, who is haunted by his traumatic past. As a child, Monty killed his father, who had kidnapped and killed several women. Raised by a caring adoptive family, Monty becomes a wealthy and successful man. However, he still feels guilty and thinks he might be like his father. The novel looks at how people deal with trauma and the question of whether you can escape your past. Stevenson has noted, "Monty's story is about survival, not just in the physical sense, but emotionally and psychologically."

In The Guests (2024), Stevenson examines the life of Tamsin, a woman tormented by invisible entities she refers to as 'The Guests.' These unwelcome presences create an increasingly unbearable atmosphere in her home, leading to the deterioration of her relationships, particularly with her teenage daughter, Summer. The novel explores themes of isolation, fear, and the struggle to confront hidden truths.

Charlotte Stevenson lives in Greater Manchester with her husband, three children, and two dogs.
