Mallory Burke, a psychologist and police consultant in New Orleans, is on the hunt for an elusive killer who stalks his prey in the French Quarter and vanishes without a trace.

Mallory’s former flame, Detective Rick Landry, has brought in a new consultant — and love interest. The investigators are convinced that only one killer is responsible, but no link can be found between the victims or how they are killed.

Meanwhile, Mallory has been all but black-balled from Bellmont Psychiatric Hospital for her involvement in a prior case. But when a patient needs Mallory’s help, she’s pulled into a web of lies and deceit that has a surprising connection to the new murders.

When a local historian discovers that the new murders are eerily similar to past crimes in New Orleans, Mallory knows she is in a race against time to stop the next murder… before it’s too late.
