Cat Clarke is a screenwriter and author of several YA novels including Girlhood and The Lost and Found. She has won the Redbridge Teenage Book Award and the Lancashire Book of the Year Award.
Cat was born in Zambia and brought up in Edinburgh and Yorkshire, which has given her an accent that tends to confuse people. She also wrote non-fiction books about exciting things like cowboys, sharks, and pirates.
"My primary goal is always to tell a story and to do justice to that story. If readers take something from it, that’s wonderful, but I try to steer clear of having some message I want to get across." Clarke said.
Her comedy-drama TV script, Not Suitable For Children, was featured in the 2019 Brit List for the best-unproduced scripts in the UK.
In 2020, Clarke participated in the writer's room and wrote an episode for the British series Call My Agent.
In 2021, Cat Clarke wrote a 'minisode' for Good Omens 2. Her shark film, Something In The Water, is due to go into production in 2022 with Studiocanal.
She is developing her latest novel, We Are Young for a UK broadcaster with Lime Pictures and has various TV projects in development.
Cat Clarke lives in Edinburgh.
