Born in England and living in North Yorkshire, James has spent the past 30 years of his life working in the commercial world. Acquiring a first degree in Business Management on leaving the Royal Air Force, James has worked for both major multinationals in various management roles and successfully set up and managed his own companies. In 2003 he was awarded a Master’s Degree from Sheffield University and today he is a Business Consultant, mentoring and advising smaller companies. Whilst in the RAF, James was a member of the RAF Vulcan Bomber Display Crew, visiting the United States, Canada and Europe on a number of occasions. James has been writing for the past ten years, achieving publishing success with pieces that have including humorous and short stories, travel articles and specialist articles for industry publications. ‘Destitution Intensified’ is his first published novel and he is working on his next novel – ‘Misplaced Expectations’, covering the two years in Europe, leading up to the start of World War I in 1914. James loves writing historical fiction, based on times and events not heavily written about by others, seeking to understand how the people at the time coped with the events unfolding around them.
