Lilia Giugni

Dr Lilia Giugni is a Research Associate at the Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation at the University of Cambridge, an intersectional feminist activist, and GenPol’s co-founder and CEO. She is the author of the nonfiction work The Threat (2022).

Lilia Giugni was born in Naples, Italy. She earned a BA in politics and international relations from Louis Guido Carli University. Giugni later holds a doctorate from the University of Cambridge. Her dedication to gender-related issues has earned her a Fellowship with the Royal Society of Arts.

Her research, writing, and advocacy work are situated at the intersection between gender and technology, as well as gender and digital inequalities and other forms of social injustice.

Giugni regularly contributes editorials, talks, and keynote speeches on gender and digital justice issues in the UK, the US, and the EU.

Her first published book, The Threat (2022), uncovers the links between patriarchy, technology, and capitalism, revealing an alarming picture of technology-facilitated exploitation and pointing to reforms and actions to reclaim tech for liberation.

Lilia Giugni lives in Cambridge, England.
