Bucket List (2024) tells the story of Dot, a lonely pensioner, and Max, a young offender, whose chance meeting sparks an unexpected friendship. After winning the lottery, Dot enlists Max's help to complete her Bucket List, setting them on a series of adventures ranging from petty crime to life-changing acts of kindness. Together they discover that happiness does not come from wealth. It comes from human connection and shared experiences.

"Rarely does one read a novel that so nourishes the soul," wrote Tendai Huchu in praise of the book.

Jones' new work continues his tradition of exploring themes of hope, humour and the power of relationships while offering a light-hearted yet poignant take on the struggles of loneliness and redemption. With Bucket List, he adds yet another dimension to his diverse and ever-evolving literary career and further establishes himself as a major figure in contemporary Scottish fiction.
