The Wilde Investigations series is a blend of magical realism and crime fiction, set in a version of London where magical beings coexist with humans. The series introduces readers to Yannia Wilde, a private investigator with deep roots in the Wild Folk community, known for their secretive lifestyle and connection to nature.

The first book in the series, Fallible Justice, was published in 2018 and sets the stage for the series with its blend of magic, mystery, and moral dilemmas. In Fallible Justice, Yannia must prove the innocence of an aristocrat condemned by the infallible judgment of a magical Herald of Justice. The stakes are high, as the punishment for magic-aided murder is death. Assisted by her Bird Shaman apprentice, Karrion, Yannia navigates the complex societal tensions of a magically integrated London to uncover the truth.

The series continues with Echo Murder (2019), where Yannia faces personal and professional challenges as she investigates a series of bizarre occurrences involving the repeated 'deaths' of a man who each time is found alive. The mystery deepens with her return to her childhood conclave, rekindling complex relationships and confronting her past.

Laura Laakso currently resides in Hertfordshire, UK.
