Valeriya Goffe

Valeriya Goffe is a Ukrainian-born writer and finance professional. She is renowned for her contemporary fiction, particularly her novel The Dream Lives On (2025). She writes in her spare time alongside her career in finance, blogging and family life.

Valeriya Goffe was born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine. She has said that most of her family and friends still live there. She has described the city’s architecture and history, noting landmarks such as Saint Sophia Cathedral, founded in the eleventh century and later preserved by historians during the Soviet era.

Goffe lived in Washington, DC, for almost twenty years. She then relocated to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, for work. She has written about exploring the country, the legacy of the Silk Road and the outdoor landscape, including opportunities for hiking in the mountains.

Her career includes finance work and fiction writing. She has combined writing with travel and cultural observation. Her 2025 novel, The Dream Lives On, follows Viktor Yurchenko, who leaves Ukraine with his three children and mother during wartime to seek refuge in the United States. The plot explores his unexpected involvement in a relationship and the impact of his journey on a long-standing family mystery.

A parallel storyline features Teresa Jameson, an executive at an international company, who reconsiders her 16-year marriage as personal difficulties mount. The narrative addresses whether she will ignore problems further or allow a new relationship to develop. The themes include self-discovery, family history and resilience during displacement.

Valeriya Goffe continues to write while working in finance and living abroad.
