2394 'Mirrors of the Past' started as a short story which I thought was complete until I took it into a writing class I was taking in 2014 in Corvallis, OR.
After the first critique from this class the short story grew longer. The second critique required that I add additional information and so on. Then the story developed and grew until it morphed into a full length book. It's the first book I've completed and is the first book in a Post apocalyptic SyFy Lesbian Romance Series of at least three books. The second book is already in process.
I've been writing for most of my life, beginning with poems I wrote in my pre- teen years after the death of my beloved Grandmother.
After taking over 30 years of creative writing classes from a variety of different teachers my love for writing has only grown. In the past the craft of writing has been mostly for my own enjoyment and personal growth. In 2009 when I was forced to retire because of an economic downturn in my profession I moved to Oregon and after an unsuccessful adjustment at being retired I again turned to writing to occupy my time.
Two years ago I returned to Northern California to live and rehab a little house I bought in Clearlake after a three year hiatus in Oregon where most of the book was written.
Before that time I had started one book which I have now gone back to attempting to finish, (We'll see what happens) and I'm presently working on the second book in the '2394 series'. In the early 2000's I had a couple of short stories published in a small local California Lesbian Newspaper 'Women's Voices' located in Sonoma County, California and now having completed 2394 'Mirrors of the Past' have finally graduated to finishing my first full length novel.
