Joe Ward was born in 1949 and developed a love of reading through his childhood and teenage, despite the interruptions and disruptions of those years. Early adulthood was spent engaged in criminal activity in London, and time in prison provided plenty of time to read widely. Now as a retired cabbie, Joe spends more time writing, and is currently working on a novel exploring the frustrations and challenges of love and present-day living. Readers have described the book as a ‘bloody good read, ‘ a great story - made me cry,’ and Joe himself as a ‘modern day Artful Dodger.’
