Briana Morgan

Briana Morgan is an American horror author, playwright, and editor known for her vivid storytelling and explorations of human behaviour through the lens of fear. Her books include The Tricker-Treater and Other Stories, which won the Godless 666 Award for Best Audiobook, and The Reyes Incident, her best-selling novel to date, with over 16,000 copies in print.

Briana Morgan developed a love of storytelling early, inspired by her grandfather's captivating tales and her father's illustrated children's stories.

Reflecting on her upbringing, she says: "I saw writing as a way to connect with them through a shared interest. Her passion for writing grew alongside an early fascination with human psychology, which later drew her to the horror genre. "Horror allows me to safely explore the darker sides of human nature," she explained.

Briana holds a BA in English and Creative Writing from Georgia College & State University. She is also an active member of the Horror Writers Association. Her background in literature and creative expression has helped her develop a distinctive voice in contemporary horror, often blending disturbing psychological themes with social commentary.

In 2020, Briana released Livingston Girls, a queer coming-of-age mystery about witches and survival. The book is described as a fast-paced exploration of sisterhood and queer discovery and reflects her commitment to representing LGBTQ+ narratives in horror. "I want to show that queer people are just people," she said. "I hope that someday we won't even need to label queer horror as queer. It will simply be part of the canon."

Her other works include Mouth Full of Ashes, Unboxed: A Play and The Reyes Incident. Through these stories, she continues to explore themes of fear, empathy and resilience. When not writing, Briana Morgan enjoys playing video games, reading disturbing fiction, and spending time with her husband and cat.
