Eve Ainsworth is an English award-winning author for children and adults, experienced school speaker, and creative workshop co-ordinator.
Eve Ainsworth was born and raised in Crawley, West Sussex. She is one of seven children. After earning her degree from the University of Kent, she had a varied background, working within HR and Recruitment roles before landing a job she loved — mentoring and supporting challenging and vulnerable students in a secondary school. Her daily routine inspired her first teen book, 7 Days (2015).
7 Days is a realistic contemporary YA novel that delves into the lives of two high school girls, Jess and Kez. Jess, who seeks refuge from her challenging home life at school, finds herself tormented by Kez and her friends, turning her sanctuary into a nightmare.
Now, she is a working-class award-winning and Carnegie-nominated children’s author who has written for both middle-grade and teen readers.
Her debut novel for adults, Duckling, came out in 2022.
Eve is also a skilled copywriter. She has written articles for the Guardian, Metro, and Psychology Today and regularly contributes blog material for Jericho Writers. Her short stories have been published in magazines such as Writers' Forum and Prima.
As a mother, she has direct experience of SEN, autism, and parenting woes. She now works in safeguarding and supporting children and vulnerable adults.
Eve Ainsworth lives with her family in Crawley.
