Sherry Stanfa-Stanley is an award-winning writer and comedian. She is best known for her humorous and inspirational memoir, “Finding My Badass Self: A Year of Truths and Dares,” 2017. Sherry writes fiction, humor, and human-interest stories.
Fighting midlife inertia, Sherry Stanfa-Stanley chronicled her life experiences through The 52/52 Project on Facebook: a year of weekly new impressions designed to push her far outside her comfort zone. These stories were the basis for “Finding My Badass Self.”
“The book is proof it is never too late to reinvent yourself,” says the author.
“Finding My Badass Self” won the 2018 IPPY Silver Medal in Humor and was a finalist in the self-help category by the 2018 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.
Her work appeared in the anthology Fifty Shades of Funny: Hook-Ups, Break-Ups, and CrackUps, and she also was a recipient of a Midwest Writers Workshop Fellowship. Her writing has been featured on The Rumpus, Midlife Boulevard, First for Women, and The Huffington Post.
A Toledo-area native, Sherry Stanfa-Stanley was a communication director of The University of Toledo and represented her alma mater for a long time.
