Jakub Żulczyk

Jakub Żulczyk is a Polish novelist and screenwriter. He is the author of the bestselling novel "Blinded by the Lights" (also published in the United Kingdom), which sold over 300,000 copies in Poland. He co-wrote the HBO series based on the novel, which became the biggest success of Polish television in recent years. He debuted in 2006 with the novel "Do Me Some Harm". He is the creator, co-author, and co-writer of the hit TV series "The Teacher" (Canal Plus) and the screenwriter of the series "Warszawianka" (Sky Showtime).

In 2017, his book "The Hill of Dogs" was published, for which he received the Warsaw Literary Award and the Wawrzyn of Warmia and Mazury. He collaborated as an author with TR Warszawa and WTW Wrocław. The novel "Black Sun", which premiered in November 2019, sparked huge controversy among critics and readers, further cementing his status as an uncompromising author experimenting with various forms of expression. In 2021, his latest novel "Feedback" (Informacja zwrotna) was published in Poland — a sort of anti-crime story about an alcoholic, Marcin Kania. It is an odyssey through a city where every place has its dirty secret, delving into the darkest corners of the human psyche, leading to the largest re-privatization scandal in Polish history, and confronting the evil that harmed his family. The series "Feedback" (Netflix) based on the novel will premiere in the second half of 2023.
