Paul David Tripp is an American pastor, event speaker, and author. He has penned over 30 books and video series on Christian living. His latest publication, Do You Believe? 12 Historic Doctrines to Change Your Everyday Life explores the impact of Christian doctrine on daily life.
Paul David Tripp was born in Toledo, Ohio. He grew up in a family newly devoted to Christ. Paul attended Columbia Bible College (now Columbia International University) and majored in Bible and Christian Education. Following his M.Div from Reformed Episcopal Seminary, he earned a D.Min in Biblical Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary.
Paul has been deeply involved in various aspects of Christian ministry throughout his career. He has planted a church, founded a Christian school, written worship songs, and performed with a Christian band.
His academic roles have included faculty member at the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF), lecturer in Biblical Counseling at Westminster Theological Seminary, Visiting Professor at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and pastor at Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia.
His most recent book, Do You Believe? 12 Historic Doctrines to Change Your Everyday Life (2021) is distinct from typical doctrinal studies as it aims to demonstrate the practical application of 12 core Christian doctrines in believers' lives. Rather than providing a comprehensive theological treatise, Tripp presents this book as a guide to integrating belief into everyday life.
In 2006, Paul David Tripp initiated his ministry, through which he continues to serve the Christian community. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife, Luella, whom he has been married to for over 50 years. Together, they have four grown children and six grandchildren.
