I was born on the 15th December 1961, joining two brothers and one sister. I grew up on the Isle of Wight until the age of 11 and moved to Romsey where I went to Lord Mountbatten School for four years. After moving to New Milton because my father was changing jobs, I went to Arnewood Secondary school for the remainder of my school years. At the age of fourteen, I found an interest to write short stories and whilst at school I was diagnosed with a spinal complaint, called scoliosis and put into a brace for twenty-three hours of the day. At the age of sixteen, still in the spinal Milwaukee brace, I moved again for my father's job to Weston-super-Mare where I went to college for six years on and off doing various courses. It was during this time in college that my English professor suggested that as I had such a wonderful imagination I should try writing a novel. My first attempt, even though binned, was a novel called Aquilanna which was based in space, a kind of science fiction. It wasn't until 1988 that I decided to have another go and Amalthean Quests, a new science fiction series set aboard a space cruiser, involving a crime fighting team with a female lead, was born, spanning over four books. I took on different clerical jobs, including admin and my last job was in a hospital central print room undertaking many clerical duties. The scoliosis made it difficult for me to stand for long periods of time on duty, and my muscles had begun to set and become painful. Upon leaving the job market I returned to my love of writing and yet another of the Amalthean Quests novels was written. I would like to think that I could bring to the book-reading world, and possibly film or TV viewing world, an all-round good entertaining read, a good one hour episode on TV as a series, or a film, that is both entertaining and could hold the interest of any reader, viewer, or film goer, as it has plenty of everything for any age group. - Jeri Dion
