B.J.Daniels

B. J. Daniels is an American author of contemporary romance novels, primarily in the subgenre of romantic suspense. She wrote over 40 short stories and more than 100 books and won numerous awards. Her books have appeared on The New York Times and USA Today's Bestseller lists.

B. J. Daniels was born in Houston but moved with his family to Montana when he was five. When she was eight years old, Daniels decided to be a writer.

At the beginning of her career, she was an administrative secretary to a telephone operator and a hod-carrier. At 30, she finally quit a good job and became a reporter at the local newspaper, part-time and at minimum wage.

In her spare time, she wrote short stories, and in 1987 she sold one of them to Woman's World. Later Daniels sold them 35 more short stories before writing her first novel.

Daniels' debut book, Odd Man Out, was sold to the Harlequin Intrigue line of contemporary romantic suspense category romance novels. It was nominated for Best First Book and Best Intrigue in 1995 in the Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Awards.

After four published books, she quit her newspaper job and began writing full-time.

Four of Daniels' books have been nominated for Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Awards, with her novel Premeditated Marriage winning in 2002, which the magazine described as "a suspenseful tale, blended artfully with a romance."

Romantic Times also awarded her a Career Achievement Award for Series Romantic Suspense in 2002. Daniels is a "USA Today Best Seller."

B. J. Daniels currently resides in Montana, where she lives with her husband and their dogs.
