Kristofer Layon is a designer, educator, and product design manager. Kris divides his time between managing mobile application product design for Capella Education Company, doing independent design and development projects, and writing books and articles for Peachpit.He has been a graphic designer since 1993 and a web designer since 1996. During this time, Kris has designed web sites for engineers, urban planners, city governments, artists, musicians, retailers, the National Park Service, and over 30 higher education clients. In addition to designing web sites, he has taught design and typography in the University of Minnesota’s College of Design, where he also worked as an academic advisor. In 2008 Kris was a co-founder of MinneWebCon, Minnesota’s Web Conference.Kris has a Master of Fine Arts degree in interactive design from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in German and pre-architecture from Saint Olaf College. He lives with his wife and daughters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
