Kory M. Shrum is an American bestselling author of fantasy and thrillers. She has published over twenty-five books, including the bestselling Shadows in the Water (2017–2019) and Dying for a Living series (2014–2017).
Shrum publishes poetry under the name K.B. Marie. Her poetry has appeared in North American Review, Bateau, and elsewhere.
Kory M. Shrum is a graduate of Austin Peay State University. Giving up her ambition to become a premed/biology path, she switched her major to English, embracing the life of a penniless bohemian. At 19, she believed the prospects of being a writer were far more exhilarating than the world of organic chemistry.
Now she is a member of Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, Horror Writers of America, and the Four Horsemen of the Bookocalypse.
She also hosts two podcasts: Who Killed My Mother?, the true story of her mother’s tragic death. And a second podcast, A Well Cared For Human, focuses on mental health and self-care.
Kory M. Shrum lives in Michigan with her equally bookish wife, Kim, and their rescue pug, Charley.
