James Savill was born in Melbourne in 1970. He fondly remembers a friendly neighbourhood; weekends spent supporting the Fitzroy Football Club, cricket, basketball and hanging out near the Yarra River. In 1981, his family moved to Merimbula; a place of beautiful beaches. In 1989 he moved to his current home, Canberra, where he enjoys a balance of family life, the bush, sport and writing.
