Graham Hill

Graham Hill is an Australian theologian, author and scholar of world Christianity, intercultural theology and mission studies. He has made significant contributions to theological education and ministry since 1988.

Hill is the author of 18 books, including the critically acclaimed Healing Our Broken Humanity, co-authored with Grace Ji-Sun Kim, which offers practical practices for revitalising the church and addressing societal brokenness. His work has been translated into several languages, including Chinese, Korean and Spanish.

In Healing Our Broken Humanity (2018), Hill and Kim present ten practices for promoting reconciliation, justice, and unity in a divided world. These practices include lament, repentance, and the relinquishment of power to equip communities to embody a Christ-centred humanity.

Each chapter includes group activities and discussion questions, making it an ideal resource for church and study groups. The book has been recognised as a resource for cultural renewal, winning the Outreach Magazine Resource of the Year Award in the Culture category.

Hill's literary contributions include missiology, biblical egalitarianism and global Christianity. His other books include Global Church, Holding Up Half the Sky and Hide This in Your Heart (with Michael Frost). His book Salt, Light and a City explores missional ecclesiology, while Global Church reframes conversations about mission and revitalisation through the lens of global Christian practice.

Graham Hill has held various academic and pastoral roles, including Principal of Stirling Theological College and Mission Catalyst for the Uniting Church in Australia. In 2024, he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to theological education and the Baptist Churches of Australia.
