According to her website, since self-publishing her debut romance novel Caught Up In Us in 2013, Blakely has sold more than 5 million books.
Lauren Blakely is a graduate of Brown University. Before Lauren started writing books, she covered the TV, media, and advertising business for many trade publications for about 15 years.
At the beginning of her writing career, Lauren tried her hand at young adult novels under another name but was unsuccessful.
"I had publishing deals, but those YA books were never successful, and they never found an audience. The biggest challenge was finally realizing, "OK, it's not going to work, and I need to do something else. I need to return to my first love." Because I was that girl who loved Danielle Steel and Sidney Sheldon, growing up and devoured all of those stories.
I realized, "Oh, this is the genre I’m supposed to be writing in." Not the one that I am banging my head against the wall trying to get published in and then not finding an audience in. Once I did that, I was much happier and much more successful," Lauren Blakely says.
Blakely describes her books as sexy contemporary romances full of heat, heart, and humor. Her bestselling series include Sinful Nights, Seductive Nights, No Regrets, Caught Up in Love, Fighting Fire, etc.
Lauren Blakely still lives in California with her family.
