Doug Burgess

Doug Burgess grew up in a small town just across the bay from Little Compton, where his family has lived for over 350 years. As a historian he's specialized in maritime and legal history. He is credited as the first scholar to suggest a link between the definitions of piracy and terrorism in law. He is a distinguished author of nonfiction, a featured blogger for The Huffington Post, has published short fiction in the Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine and other periodicals, and is a professor of history in Manhattan. This is his first novel.
